About
John Connolly: The person behind the Utah Realtor®
To
really serve you well as your real estate agent, I need to
get to know you personally. It's only fair that you should
have the opportunity to get to know me too! I believe that
taking care of peoples' real estate needs can just be about
what I do...just as important is who we are and how we relate!
Hi! This
is the page where I get to have a little fun sharing who I
am and the things and people I love! This is also where you
finally get to see REAL photographs of me. When I became a
Realtor®, I just couldn't bring myself to use a so-called
'professional head shot' (I call them Real Estate Glamour
Shots - LOL!) I've never understood why so many real estate
agents think plastering their mugshot everywhere is the best
way to serve their clients. Good Real Estate should be focussed
on matching clients with homes, but instead agents spend a
good chunk of their time working to win some sort of warped
"do you recognize me" agent popularity contest!
Professionalism is defined by what you DO, not by what you
look like! So that's why I instead opted for the caricature
version of me that you see on the right in the hope that it
would give people a reason to smile. When my daughter saw
it for the first time she laughed for 10 minutes and called
it "the bobble-head daddy", so that pretty much
made the decision for me!
By the
way, thanks for stopping by to get to know me better...

| This
is my wife's favorite photo of me and she made
me put it on this page. It was taken several years ago
(at the time I was a few pounds heavier), and we were
on a road trip and had stopped to watch the sunset at
Lake Powell... |

Speaking
of my talented wife...she is both my webmaster and an
internet marketing specialist. She is thorough to a fault,
and provides much of the "support" in the Internet2Homes
Support Team! If you become a client, you'll get to know
her too! |

Soccer!
This photo is more "me"! It was taken at a
Summer 2008 3 vs.3 soccer tournament where I coached
a U8 team (the "Ghosts"). The girls went all
the way to the finals, despite playing an age group
up! They played great! I am so proud of them!
I
am also a volunteer Referee in the Cottonwood AYSO league.
I never dreamed I would enjoy refereeing so much. I
especially like reffing kids' at the U14 level because
they play SO hard, and are so close to having all the
elements of their game fall into place...

Proud

I'm about as proud a father as you will ever encounter!
I have a daughter (my oldest), she is 7, and two boys
ages 5 and 3. |

Texas
Hold'em Poker
I've been refining my game for a while - I love the
strategy of it. This is me playing Poker in a World
Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament in June of 2008. (For
those of you who are wondering - No, I didn't win!)
P.S.
A poker-face comes in handy during real estate negotiations!

Vintage
VW Beetles
For quite a few years, I have built performance engines
for aircooled Volkswagens. This is my current 'project'
- a 2332cc Street Car (soon to be Herbie the Love Bug
outfitted to make my daughter happy) that I drag race
periodically out at Rocky Mountain Raceway.
My
wife has a 1956 Ragtop that we are working on restoring
to original -- yes she wants to keep the measly 36 HP
engine!

Skiing
and Mountain Biking
Relocating? Let me give you a taste of the amazing ski
and mountain biking terrain that you are in for! If you
aren't too pressed for time on your home shopping visit,
maybe we can squeeze in a run or two (winter, spring)
or a refreshing bike ride (spring, summer, fall)! |

| Vegas
was the greatest English Bull Terrier that ever lived!
She was kind and gentle and demure...We miss her dearly.
My wife and I picked her from the litter just before we
got married. Due to a congenital heart defect, we only
had the pleasure of her company for 4 years. |

Murphy
lived to the ripe old age of 21, and only passed away
last fall. He had a few different nicknames over the
years: Mr. Brown, Super Cat, Canada Cat (my wife is
from Canada and she brought him with her when she moved
here)...and after we had kids he was dubbed "the
mean kitty" (snuggling up to toddlers is an 'acquired
skill', that Murphy never quite acquired!) After having
him for so many years, my wife hasn't been able to bring
herself to replace him...

Meet
Perkins! Our Chinchilla...
Maybe it's a good thing Murphy and Vegas aren't around
now that Perkins is part of the family! He would have
been a tempting snack!
Chinchillas
are pretty much the perfect rodent pet -- low odor,
virtually silent, but very entertaining! They love to
run on their spinning wheel and actively hop from ledge
to ledge in their habitats; they are furry and cute
have unique personalities; and they look EXCEPTIONALLY
cute when they sit on their haunches and nibble on the
treat you gave to them!
