CONTACT
and COMMUNICATION
Communicating
with your Agent
Poor
communication is
one of the most common complaints that people have about Real
Estate Agents -- that they are difficult to get hold of and
they don't return some of their calls. The
"hard to get hold of" complaint is quasi-justifiable:
Agents are on the road, in meetings (showings, consultations
and closings), and on the phone a LOT. So it really isn't
anything personal if you end up at voicemail. However, the
"don't return their calls" complaint is INEXCUSABLE.
Despite juggling the busy schedule of Realtor®, Soccer
Coach/Referee and father of three youngsters, you will always
be able to reach me in a timely manner. For your convenience,
I provide multiple methods of contact so you can choose according
to your preferred method of communication, and level of urgency.
Email
| Phone | Mobile Text
| Online Chat
My
"official" COMMUNICATION hours are:
- Mon
- Fri, 8am - 6pm
- Sat,
9am - 4pm
Of course,
I am often working for clients beyond these hours (i.e. for
showings, open houses, consultations, etc). I work diligently
for my clients and understand that the nature of Real Estate
involves evening and weekend work. But I have a family (a
wife and 3 wonderful small children), and so I am careful
to reserve work after regular business hours for truly essential
meetings/tasks that cannot be addressed or performed during
the day. Rest assured, your needs will be taken care of appropriately
and professionally with me as your Realtor®. You can send
your question or concern via email or text message, and you'll
almost always receive a quick reply -- sometimes within minutes
-- and in every case, you will definitely hear back from me
(or my assistant) either the same or next business day. Of
course, if you prefer to discuss your real estate needs by
phone or in person, I do business that way too!
Regardless
of which contact method you choose, you won't be disappointed!
Communication
Method Options:
Email
via Contact Forms: I utilize contact forms on my website
to prevent spammers from harvesting my email address. Contact
forms are also a great way to ensure that I have the basic
information to enable me to hit the ground running on your
behalf. To send me an email message, question, or feedback
on my site or my service, use my General
Contact Form. Or if you want to email me directly, my
email address is john [at] realestate-slc [dot] com
Current
Clients: I encourage current clients to use email
for matters of transactional detail and clarification. Email
is a great way to ensure that no detail gets omitted or
overlooked, and it gives both of us a communication "trail"
to refer back to, if necessary. You can use my online Client
Priority Contact Form if your concern or question is
of an urgent nature. This form immediately notifies me on
my cell phone via text message (see below) that you require
assistance urgently. During my above posted business hours,
either I or my assistant will respond to your email you
in a reasonable time frame (usually a few minutes, and never
more than a few hours). And we also do our best to be responsive
to emergency situations even during non-business hours.
Phone:
(801) 662-0062
This
number is a "Find Me, Follow Me" number that will
hunt me down and connect you to me whereever I may be, assuming
I am available to answer the phone. Whenever possible, I or
my assistant will answer your call personally and promptly,
and you will ALWAYS get a call back! But if we are with a
client, in a settlement, or on the phone with another client,
our policy is to respect that client's time by NOT interruping
the proceedings to answer "the next call". The upside
is that when we are working with YOU, your time will also
be respected the same way! Of course, when you leave a message,
you will receive a prompt and informative call back in a reasonable
and appropriate time frame.Telephone is the good method for
urgent matters and scheduling issues. Remember if you have
transactional details or questions requiring non-urgent clarification,
email is a better way to send those to me.
Send
a Text Message: Realtors spend a lot of time on the road,
and in meetings and in the company of clients - which is one
of the reasons they are known for being difficult to reach.
Text Messaging is a GREAT way to overcome the problem of getting
a message to me immediately regardless of where I am or what
I'm doing, since receiving a text via mobile phone is practically
instantaneous, and completely silent. Even if you don't have
a cell phone or know how to "text" from your phone,
you can send
me a text message via my Text Me Form. The main difference
between this form and an email form is text messages are limited
to a certain number of characters, so you need to be brief
i.e. Bob here. I want to make an offer ASAP. Please call 801-555-1212.
Online
Chat: There is an online chat link on just about every
page of my website -- if the chat icon has a GREEN DOT and
says "available" [SCREENSHOT HERE], then either
I or my assistant are at our computers and are available to
answer your questions in real-time. Don't be shy!
